Shogun Rua Robbed of Title

In last week's Mauricio Rua vs Lyoto Machida light heavyweight title match Rua clearly won the fight even though it wasn't a complete wipeout. Bottom line is that it was a clear victory. The UFC is obviously banking on Machida as an undefeated star who is willing to call out Brock Lesnar (a super heavyweight). Rua spoiled the party last week when he applied his game plan perfectly and dissected Machida not allowing him to mount any sort of attack. Rua should have the title regardless of whether there is a rematch which there most certainly will be. Machida may end up keeping the title after the rematch but his fight with Rua will always be a blip against his star power moving forward.
