Manny Pacquiao's biggest challenge is now directly in front of him. He takes on a solid welterweight in Miguel Cotto tonight. Pacquiao said he "really needs this fight" recently on ESPN and I couldn't agree more. This is the fight that could truly set him up for legendary status. It won't make him a legend but it will set up big fights that will (assuming he wins them).
The fight with Cotto presents the biggest challenge for Pacquiao because Cotto is a prime true welterweight. Oscar De La Hoya was a great welterweight but not in his prime when Manny dismantled him. Cotto has recent victories against prime welterweights including Joshua Clottey and Shane Mosley. The fight should be a huge draw on PPV and extremely exiting to watch as well given the styles of the two fighters.
