Paul Williams wins big against Winky Wright

Paul Williams proved he is the real deal by taking a big step up to middleweight and beating former pound for pound mainstay Winky Wright. In fact, he won a dominant decision by almost winning every round on each scorecard and throwing over 1000 punches in the fight. Wright says he wants to go back down to 147 but is also willing to fight the best at 160. I think he will have a hard time securing a fight at 147 but may have a shot at getting a Kelly Pavlik or Arthur Abraham at 160 assuming those two can't secure a fight with each other.

On the under card Chris Arreola knocked out Jameel Mccline setting the stage for a bigger fight later this year or soon thereafter. Arreola has demonstrated some crafty boxing talent despite looking like he is not in top shape. He might just be America's next big heavyweight contender.
